Spiritually, breast cancer is often related to the Heart Chakra.
Within our body we have seven of these major energy centers called chakras, running along our spinal column. They are also considered spiritual centers and correlate to certain organs in the physical body.
When our Qi or energy is out of balance, or it's flow is impeded, it can manifest as different kinds of imbalances, eventually resulting in illness or imbalance in the corresponding organs.
Because the breast is closely associated with the heart center, your breasts can benefit from opening the heart chakra, whether or not breast illness is an issue for you.
In Ilchi Lee's book
Healing Chakras, the heart chakra is a beautiful golden yellow color, called the Mind Palace and considered the seat of the soul.
In spiritual terms, the breast or chest is the center of divine love and nurturance. Think of the trusting child lying at his mother's bosom. Doing these Solar Body exercises will help to send loving healing light energy to both your body and heart center.
Breast Exercises to Open the Heart Chakra:
Plate Balancing
Plate Balancing helps release both the physical and emotional stress of dealing with breast cancer. The circular arm movements of Plate Balancing serves a few purposes. Its movements create a
lymphatic massage to the entire breast and underarm area, helps keep scar tissue from forming, or keeps existing tissue supple, and helps awaken your
Solar Body.
Chest Opening Exercise
Brian Korbelik of the Scottsdale, AZ Body & Brain Yoga center says Chest Opening exercise is a "preventative" movement that helps release tension in the chest and upper back, opening your heart chakra.
To do the Chest Opening exercise, simply stand with your feet shoulder width apart, relaxing your chest and shoulders. Bring your arms up to the side and bend your elbows at a 90 degree angle, and swing, side-to-side.
This exercise also works the torso and waist area, but is especially good for releasing stress and congestion in the chest. "At the end of a day, it really helps you release stress and helps you sleep better too," says Brian.
Heart Chakra Meditation
Try this meditation with some
Bird of the Soul essential oil in a
diffuser. Using the oil while you meditate will help you set the stage for a calm, peaceful environment, making your brain more receptive to its affirmations.
Begin by sitting or lying on the floor or in a chair. The Fourth Chakra, or the heart chakra, is like a golden rose that wants to bloom and open fully during your life. It is the seat of your unconditional love. It is through the Fourth Chakra that we can experience some of the most joyous aspects of life.
Place your hands with your palms together, in prayer pose, and hold them at your heart level. Gently close your eyes and imagine a golden rose bud glowing in your heart space, growing larger and more vibrant with your every breath.
Next, see this rose begin to bloom. Take deeper and deeper breaths, and with each one, see this rose bud unfurl, petal by petal, blooming so big your heart is bursting with fragrant, flowering joy.
Keep breathing and let this shimmering golden rose flower swaddle your heart, filling and overflowing in your chest with love and gratitude. As the rose pulsates with the warmth of your heartbeat, tell yourself: "I am loved. I am loved. I love my life."
When you are ready, take three more deep, cleansing breaths. Open your eyes. Place your hands palms down on your chest and let the warmth in your hands sink into your body. Complete your meditation bending your upper body with a half bow to your true self.
Use these three breast exercises to give yourself some tender loving care to maintain a healthy Fourth Chakra, heart and breasts.
