It is possible to use your state of mind to achieve optimal health. And Crown Chakra can help. You need only to tune in and listen.
Because the Crown Chakra, the last of the seven main chakras, is so strongly related to faith, spirituality and higher consciousness, it is constantly conveying messages between your intuitive self and your physical self.
Our physical bodies are only one form of our existence. We all actually possess two other, non-physical bodies. One is the energy body, what we call Qi or life force. It lives in our aura, the subtle energy field that surrounds our physical body. The other non-physical form is the spiritual body. However, the mind is so powerful, our thoughts and beliefs tend to dominate and drive our physical states. Turning to Crown Chakra energy can help.
The Crown Chakra is the spiritual body’s information center. When you tune in to Crown Chakra energy, it helps to clear negative beliefs about your health and remove obstacles to your healing, connecting you instead with the clear, vibrant light of higher consciousness.
The Crown Chakra governs the brain, nervous system and pituitary and pineal glands. Integrating your physical health into this chakra has great potential for adjusting physical conditions that may have been caused, or at least influenced by, imbalances in it.
The crown of the head is also the site of a major acupressure point called the Baek-hwe. “Baek” means “one hundred, many, all”; and “hwe” means “to gather or come together.” Similar to the Thousand Petaled Lotus of the Crown Chakra, all the energy in the human body is said to come together at the Baek-hwe.
The Baek-hwe is involved in most of the energy and blood circulation in the body. Stimulating this point is instrumental in increasing Qi circulation also, helping to clear negative beliefs and thought patterns.
An excellent practice for balancing the physical body with Crown Chakra is the Water Up, Fire Down principle. This principle takes its name from the body’s fire elements such as the body heat required to burn calories and promote good digestion, and water elements such as body fluids, circulation and kidney function. Your body strikes a perfect balance when your belly is warm and your head is cool.
So, how does this balancing act work? Remember, ‘chakra’ means wheel and when you have your chakras open and healthy, energy gets moving again. Stimulating the Baek-hwe helps Qi flow to make your head clearer and cooler, which is very helpful for improving concentration. Opening your Crown Chakra allows you to receive the wisdom and clarity of higher consciousness.
One of the easiest ways to understand Water Up, Fire Down is to think of your physical body as a building and your body systems as the little water bubble in the level builder’s use to see if a wall or beam is straight. It is your water and fire energies that drive the bubble to be either too far off or right on center.
Here are two mediations for using your Crown Chakra to balance water and fire energies:
Tapping the Dahn-jons
While the seven chakras run up the spine, from base to head, the energy centers known as Dahn-jons actually reside in the front of the body and encompass all three major chakra centers. The Upper Dahn-jon surrounds the Crown and Third Eye Chakras. This is where you want calm, cool water energy circulating. The Lower Dahn-jon, located just below the navel, encompasses the Root and Sacral chakras. This is your fiery energy center where metabolism, digestion and primal forces are processed. You want your belly to be warm and active.
This exercise helps you find that perfect mind-body balance:
Stand or lie in a quiet room or outdoor setting. Hang your arms loosely by your sides. To loosen any tension in your neck and shoulders, gently turn your neck from side to side and rotate your shoulders, forward then backwards, a few times.
Now, begin at the crown of your head, visualize the color violet and tap lightly on your skull with your fingertips. You can use one or both hands. Imagine the cooling liquid violet light filling your entire head. Closing your eyes and inhaling slowly, imagine that you are drawing this cool liquid from your kidneys, where it began as red light but slowly cooled as it ascended through each energy center.
Keep tapping as you breathe naturally. When you have completed your visualization of this chakra, exhale through your mouth and go on to your Third Eye chakra. Imagining a deep blue or indigo light expanding and rotating around your Third Eye, tap gently at the center of your forehead.
Repeat this exercise for each chakra, visualizing its corresponding color and tapping gently on each point until you’ve reached the lower Dahn-jon and the Root Chakra where you will visualize warm, red energy that is heat descended from the head. Again, use tapping on your belly to energize and balance this point.
When you have finished, slowly open your eyes, sweep your arms outward, bring them back to your Heart Chakra with hands in prayer position and bend forward slightly in gratitude to your divine self.
Violet Light Meditation
Violet is the color of royalty and passion. This mediation is designed to awaken the infinite potential of the brain to see optimal health throughout the physical body by using the unique vibration of the color violet. This type of color healing is not limited to the Crown Chakra. All seven chakras incorporate some of the colors of the entire rainbow spectrum, so you can consciously choose any color you wish when meditating. For this exercise, let’s use violet.
Sit in a comfortable position and relax your body with some light stretching and a few deep breaths. Use an object or drawing of a deep purple or violet color to set up about 20 inches from you at eye level. Observe the picture calmly and silently for a few moments. Feel the ‘sensation’ of the color, whether it is hot, cold or warm, dense or light, sad or happy, soothing or disturbing, sweet or sour.
Now, close your eyes and imagine the shape you’ve just seen. Let it become larger and brighter in your mind’s eye, infusing your whole being with its light. Let the light cascade over you and through you, absorbing it into your aura and through your skin and washing over your organs, finally exploding when it reaches your Crown Chakra.
When you’ve reached this point of saturation, repeat this affirmation 10, 100 or 1,000 times, calling out the symbolic energy of the Crown Chakra: “This light that enters through the crown of my head is all-knowing, complete and filled with the light of divine consciousness.”
