"Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude."
—Denis Waitley
Week 2: Courage
Gratitude is a great way to approach any day. At the beginning, in the middle, and at the end, you will create more opportunities in your life if you can tune into the wavelength of gratitude.
After yesterday's training, did you get answers that surprised you? Excited you? Maybe you got answers that scared you. The point is to accept whatever feelings come up and balance them out with gratitude.
We mentioned before that everything is constantly changing and within and around you is energy that takes form in response to your thinking. What we perceive in the present moment is a reflection of what we have thought before.
Most importantly, everything that exists now is the foundation for what will be. So, the raw materials for whatever you are looking for are all around you. Through gratitude we transform what we already have into our heart's desire.
Gratitude is the antidote to a mindset of lack. Rather than thinking and feeling that you are not enough or don't have enough, you can call forth abundance by recognizing it.
Acknowledging your blessings creates space for more blessings. You can learn to really love yourself and know yourself by counting your blessings. The miracle you seek is already in you and around you and gratitude will help you bring it into "reality."
Meditation
Find a nice clean sheet of paper or a journal and make a list of all of the blessings in your life today. Give yourself 10 minutes to write. You might be surprised what you come up with.
Sit
Wherever you are, first please sit down. You can meditate in any position, but you will have the best results if you are in a position that is both relaxed and alert. To keep your back straight during meditation you may need to lean against a wall or pillow.
Look
Pick up your LifeParticle Card (or find a digital version at
ChangeYourEnergy.com); take 30 seconds to look at the LifeParticle Sun. This will help you shift your focus to what you want to achieve.
Breathe
Now close your eyes, take a deep breath and slowly exhale until you empty out your lungs. Relax your shoulders and breathe like this 2 more times.
Release
Keep your eyes closed and and reflect on all of the things in your list. Relax your body and breathe in gratitude for each item. Begin deep breathing again and with each exhale imagine something disappears from the room. Keep breathing and emptying the space around you for 2 minutes.
Finish
When you are done, shake your shoulders vigorously for 30 seconds to release any remaining tension. Do you feel lighter? Now you can begin to feel free to release everything you know about your situation and get a fresh perspective.
Affirm
You are not a mistake. Everything about you is meant to bring something special to the world. Celebrate your uniqueness with this affirmation. Say it out loud. If possible, look at yourself in the mirror.
I am letting go and accepting change in my life. I trust that all is flowing in accordance with my highest good.
Follow Up
Whether walking, sitting or standing, take time today to practice this technique. Relax your shoulders and take a deep breath into your chest. Keep doing this for 3 minutes. Do your best to just "listen" to what comes up in your mind, just keep breathing in and exhaling slowly. Repeat at least 3 times during the day or the next day.
