As you travel on your journey here on Earth, you will meet a wide variety of people. Every single one will have a unique personality, as well as an individual set of ambitions and talents. More than ever, people are free to choose their own lifestyles, and they have contrasting opinions about various issues. And everyone has their own personal dream for what they want out of life. However, we all have one thing in common—we all want to be happy.
The Master Key to Happiness
So, how does one become happy? People have struggled for a long time to answer this question, but the answer is actually quite simple. The master key to happiness is your brain. Happiness is not something that comes to you; it is something you create with your brain. And the great thing is that you don’t have to wait for your life situation to be perfect. You can start making your own happiness right now.
First of all, understand that your brain wants you to be happy. But you must get out of its way to let it connect you with the universe, which can provide an endless flow of joy to your body, mind, and spirit. However, most of us have many beliefs and preconceptions that drag us down, causing us to lose confidence in ourselves and limiting our ability to imagine and create what we truly want in our lives. So, you must do something to go beyond your thinking mind so that you can feel the joyful energies of heaven and earth flowing through your whole being.
A Way to Connect to the Universe
One way I love to cultivate joy in myself is through movement and song. Sometimes, I will play my flute, which is built right into my walking staff so I can easily bring it with me on my walks in nature. When I play, I do not follow any song that anyone could recognize, and I do nothing to plan my music beforehand. Instead, I simply play whatever comes through me in the moment. I do not judge anything that I play, and I do not try to correct or improve the song as I go. I just let the song come into being. In a similar way, I may also allow the energies of the universe to move my body in a kind of improvisational dance. I might spin my walking staff or let my arms move like branches swaying in the wind. In those moments, I feel completely in sync with the flow and rhythms of the Earth and the cosmos.
You can do the same thing on your own. You don’t need to have a flute like mine; you can just use your body . . . or you could draw on paper or use a drum or some other instrument. You could even try spontaneous singing or humming. The important thing is to go beyond the thinking, judgmental mind and to flow with the energies of the universe. Just allow whatever comes to come, without preconceptions about the results being “good” or “bad.” If you can allow this to happen, your brain will naturally connect to the energies of heaven and earth, and you will be filled with great joy, like a carefree child playing on a beach. This is the true meaning of creativity.
Becoming a Bright Presence in the World
Through this practice, you can carry the same sense of connection and joy into your life. When you are connected in this way, your brain becomes like a bright golden light shining in the world. Can you imagine how beautiful it would be to carry this kind of connection through every moment of your life? You would become a truly bright consciousness in the world, someone who stands like a beacon of hope for humanity.
When your brain is lit up in this way, your True Self is shining bright from within you. Once you have felt this, you can begin to remake your whole life so that is like the tune I play on my flute—free and full of joy. The important thing is to establish and maintain that connection between your brain, your True Self, and heaven and earth. If you can do that, you cannot be brought down by obstacles and negative emotions because you will be fully grounded in who you really are—a soul with a beautiful divine purpose for life.
