As 2014 draws to a close, let us look back on the past year and remind ourselves of the goals we started with, what we’ve accomplished, and what we’d like to achieve in the future. Most importantly, let us celebrate everything we’ve become, as well as all of the dreams and people that make our lives worth living.
When I look back on the past year, the word that I think defines it for my life is “pioneering.” This year, I “discovered” a new land—New Zealand. I learned for myself of its pristine beauty and the powerful energy there that helps people to connect with the spirit of the earth. As I roamed around New Zealand’s two islands, it felt like the final frontier, and my dreams of creating an Earth Village where people can develop themselves in harmony with each other and the Earth according to universal energy principles flamed anew in my heart. In response to the rush of energy I felt there for my hopes and dreams, I took action right away. As I have in other locations—South Korea, the United States, Canada, and Japan—I began to lead meditation groups and start a retreat center there.
I’ve been working so hard this year, in New Zealand as well as on my latest
book and
film projects, yet I’ve been so happy because I’ve been able to work on my ultimate vision of 100 million people being aware of energy principles and using all of their potential to fulfill the greatest dreams of their heart and soul. This goal fuels me and makes everything seem bright.
Looking back,
what are you proud of about this past year? What would you like to celebrate? If you find yourself despairing because you can’t think of anything, look a little closer. Just as you can always find
something to be grateful for, you can always find something to celebrate. Did you find just the right gift for someone that you know they’ll love? Did you smile widely at a stranger? Did you do your best to take care of your children—cooking them food, playing with them, checking their homework, driving them around town?
Did you try something new this year? Did you take dance lessons or try a new recipe? Did you make a new friend, move to a new place, or start a new job? In what ways have you pioneered this year?
It’s easy for us to see our flaws and what we should do better, and we should always
check ourselves and make a new plan for our goals. That’s an integral part of our development and the way we can achieve something, not just for ourselves,
but everyone else as well. However, before we do, and before we look ahead to 2015, let’s give ourselves a pat on the back for all of the things we did well, both large and small. Recognition best comes from ourselves. From it, we’ll get energy we can use to keep going toward something more.
The past year was a great year, and the next year will be even better.
