Have you found yourself being blown away when change after change hits you from out of nowhere? Or at least, do you sometimes feel a little lost, or, perhaps, that life isn’t as fulfilling and satisfying as you imagine it could be?
In order to have a rich life on every level, you need to create a stable foundation, a base from which you can build. You need to create a triangle. Three things can balance each other to create a stable foundation. They are guidance, principles, and vision.
Any
goal you set, small or large, practical or profound, is a vision. A vision is a picture of what you want. Without a vision, your life floats by like a raft without direction. The joy of achieving a goal, no matter how small, brings passion and movement to your life.
The best goals are those that have a specific number that you want to accomplish within a set period of time. That will help you focus and gather enough energy to make something solid and real.
Without knowing the
energy principles that underlie how everything works, however, it’s more difficult to reach a goal. You may get there anyway, blindly, and maybe superficially. Understanding energy principles lets you mold your environment and circumstances so that you feel like the artist of your life.
To get to your vision, you need to know the way. You need a GPS or guidance system.
Guidance can be something simple, such as a recipe for chocolate chip cookies. Or it can be the voice of your true self guiding you to the best vocation. You can find it on your own by trial and error, following your nose. You can also find a teacher that will lead you with his or her experience.
When you choose a teacher, look for an expert in what you want to accomplish. If you want sell 100,000 books, look for an expert in book sales. If you want to become enlightened, look for an enlightened spiritual teacher.
Working with a vision, principles, and guidance will keep your life
centered and balanced. Maintaining your balance will enable you to ride all of the waves of life to the shore of your choosing. If you lose one of these three and wander off of the path you want to be on, the other two will push you back on it. Ultimately, however, all three are necessary for a full and satisfying life.
