Got your list of goals and dreams from
Step 2? Good. Now it's time for the action part of the
IPAEN 5-Step Strategy to Manifesting Your Dreams.
Placing your goals and ideas somewhere you can see them everyday was a great start. Now, you need to 'activate' them in order for them to yield any results.
Goals that take a lot of time or money to realize may seem daunting at first. Maybe your goal is to "have a thriving restaurant business." Yet, you have no experience, live on a very tight budget or feel that you have no apparent support networks in your chosen industry. You wrote down the goal out of a deep desire, but now you may be wondering how you can possibly get from here to there; from today to next year, with what little you have at the moment.
Don't let fear and doubt bar your progress. The antidote to fear is action and now it's time to trade your wishlist for your To Do list.
Instead of focusing on the obstacles to turning your dreams into reality, determine what you need to do to remove those obstacles. Then set out to do at least one thing toward that goal each and every day. Daily actions have a cumulative effect. So even the smallest gesture counts toward the end goal.
If you study a recipe one day, for example, and another day visit a restaurant that resembles the one you'd like to own some day, you are laying a foundation upon which your dreams can manifest. And, by building your dreams one energetic brick at a time, you are in the process of living them rather than postponing them.
Action has another purpose. The more engaged you are in pursuing your interests, the less time you have for self doubt. When you're too busy "doing" you have no time, or reason, to "not be doing," which is another term for procrastination.
Taking one action, big or small, each and every day can be extremely joyful and satisfying.
Not every day, though, is going to yield the same rewards or satisfaction. Sometimes, pursuing long term goals can drain your energy. It takes patience to let things form on their own timeline.
Some days it will be all you can do to label a file folder "Menu Ideas." On another day you might find yourself enrolling in that restaurant management course. The important thing is to never let circumstances dictate your motivation for pursuing your goals.
Here are some actions you can take to keep yourself motivated along the way.
- Keep a journal - it will help you note the imperceptible progress you are making on a daily basis.
- Join a club or group - when you are around like minded people they will energize and inspire you with new ideas and new perspectives on challenging issues.
- Take a break from results - trust that your request to the universe has been heard and things are unfolding just as they need.
Set a timeframe for making daily actions. Six weeks, three months or a year? Decide whichever time period is comfortable and easily measurable for you.
That's it. Just promise yourself you will do a minimum of one action toward your goal each day for a designated time period. Then go about your life in the meantime, resting assured that you are manifesting your dreams.
The next step is Evaluation, when you will have a chance to review, refine and revise your perfect strategy for bringing your dreams into reality!
