Your mind both produces and is affected by
energy.
Like other cells, your brain cells produce molecules in which they store energy. When they break the bonds of those molecules, energy is released for the cells to use. Neuronal cells in the brain also produce electrical energy from the flow of charged particles, or ions, along the length of the cell when it is activated. Those electrical signals spread out from the brain in waves that can be recorded in the form of electroencephalograms (EEGs). One of the products of the electrochemical activity of neuronal cells is thought, or what we think of as the mind.
When the brain is low on energy, it affects the functioning of the mind. You may experience forgetfulness, difficulty concentrating, and/or a poor mood when your brain does not have enough energy.
From the point of view of modern physics, your observation, i.e., your perspective, expectations, and focus, affects the way energy manifests into physical reality. Your attention has the capacity to direct the behavior of energy. In the traditional Asian understanding of energy, this is described as energy following the direction of your mind; energy flows to whatever the mind concentrates on.
The ancient energy principles of Shim(Mind)-ki(Energy)-hyul(Blood)-jung(Body) states: "Where consciousness lies, energy flows, brining blood and transforming the body." This phrase implies that consciousness is the true reality behind the appearance of form. A simpler way of saying Shim-ki-hyul-jung is, "Energy goes where mind goes." Try this simple exercise to experience Shim-ki-hyul-jung.
Breathe in and out a few times to relax your whole body. Concentrate intently on the center of your palms. Keep concentrating and imagine that your palms are becoming hotter than the rest of your body. After a while, if you measure relative temperatures with a thermometer, the temperature of your palms will have increase compared to the rest of your body.
This phenomenon occurs because your conscious concentration sent energy to your palms, increasing circulation and warmth.
When you developer deeper sensitivity, you gain the ability to send energy to any part of your body. You can warm or cool a specific part, if you so desire. When you align consciousness, energy, and body with one single wish and have developed the strength and protect that single wish, you will recognize the amazing power of your mind. You will witness the wish come into being in the world of form. You will have become a creator in the fullest sense of the world.
The greater the strength and length of focus, the more energy will go to what the mind pictures. As it concentrates, energy becomes denser and leads to the creation of your internal and external reality, both in your body and in your life. Therefore, what you are thinking is important for creating positive change in your life.
Because of this effect, and if you remember that your brain and mind, like everything, are also made of energy, you can think of energy and mind as two aspects of the same unit. Some Asian philosophy also says that mind is energy, and energy is mind. Condensing this concept into one word, I dubbed the unity of energy and mind, or energy and consciousness, LifeParticles. These fundamental units of matter compose all that is seen and unseen.
I put together the word
LifeParticles to make it easier to picture the link between consciousness, energy, and manifestation of intention. With your mind, you can bring together LifeParticles to build material such as a healthy body and food to eat. You also bring to life situations you would like to occur. To put enough energy behind your intentions, however, you often need to act on them.
In later blog posts, I'll go further into how to do this and
manage your energy to manage your life.
