Art as an Expression of Energy
For
Ilchibuko, art has always been a way of connecting with energy and expressing something beyond words. She recalls how even as a child, she found peace in simple, repetitive artistic practices—whether it was grinding ink for calligraphy or sketching the world around her. She says, “I realize now it was really training for the mind on how to just surrender and empty ourselves so the energy can guide the hands instead of what we think it needs to be.”
Later, through deep spiritual experiences at
Sedona Mago Center for Well-being and Retreat, she felt called to explore color and expression in new ways. That’s when she first began using bright pastels to show what she was seeing and feeling in her meditation.
“Sometimes I say cosmic energy moves through me,” she shares. “And [art] is getting that energy to express itself.”
The Heaven & Earth Series
