Each spring, nature reminds us what it means to begin again, as renewal pulses through the Earth. When we open our eyes and our hearts to it, we’re reminded that we’re not separate from nature. We
are nature.
This
Earth Month, we invite you to honor that truth by creating your own nature-inspired energy art—not just as a form of creativity, but as a way to return to your body, your inner wisdom, and your relationship with the living planet.
When you create nature-inspired energy art, you’re engaging in a practice of slowing down and aligning your energy with something greater than yourself. It’s
not just healing for you; it’s a form of quiet activism for all of life. It’s a way of saying,
I am part of the Earth, and I care for her by caring for myself.
How to Make Nature-Inspired Energy Art
Try making art not just about nature, but
with nature. You can
tune in to the Earth, become one with her ways, and allow her energy to move through you.
Ground yourself. Step outside if you can. Feel your feet on the ground, the air on your skin, the weight of your body supported by the Earth. Breathe gently and imagine roots growing down into the soil, anchoring you into a deeper state of presence.
Attune to the Earth's energy. Notice what’s around you. What does the land feel like today? What’s the weather doing? What season are you in? Let your body sense the energy of the moment without needing to name or analyze it.
Now you’ve opened the door for your art to become an act of relationship with the living world.
This could look like:
- • Using natural imagery (like roots, rivers, or leaves) to express how you’re feeling inside
- • Letting your mark-making movements mirror natural rhythms (like the way wind swirls, or rain falls)
- • Practicing impermanence and non-attachment by creating something that will disappear (like drawing in the sand, arranging leaves that will dry and curl, or painting with water on stone)
- • Infusing your artwork with intention such as healing, gratitude, or reconnection with the Earth
