Artist Highlight: Manwol
As the founder of the Sun Tao practice in Korea, Master Manwol (Jeongeun Son) has spent decades guiding people to live in alignment with their true nature. Her teachings, which are rooted in ancient Taoist wisdom, have reached thousands across the globe. She’s written over ten books, led countless spiritual workshops and retreats, and has spoken at global peace conferences including the U.N. Millennium World Peace Conference of Religious and Spiritual Leaders.
Long before we brought her artwork to Change Your Energy, Manwol was already creating beauty in the world. In the way her life is fueled by deep sincerity and a boundless love for humanity . . . her art is an extension of that love.
Manwol (만월), means full moon in Korean.
It’s a fitting symbol. Like the full moon reflects the sun’s light and illuminates the night sky, her art reflects a deeper source and gently illuminates the hearts of those who encounter it.
The Meaning of Bangwoondo
Manwol calls her artwork bangwoondo (방운도). It’s a term inspired by the ancient Korean spiritual text Cham Jeon Gye Gyeong (참전계경).
The word breaks down like this:
- Bang (방 / 方): means direction, principle, or method—a way of aligning to something
- Woon (운 / 運): means movement, flow, energy, or fortune
- Do (도 / 道): means way, path, or road—representing the central teachings in Taoism concerning the natural order of life itself
Together, bangwoon (방운) expresses the deliberate, sincere movement of energy. Paired with do (도), it represents a transmission of harmonious energy through sincere intention—in this case, through art.
“When I draw a bangwoondo,” Manwol explains, “I try to put a loving heart, a bright and pure human nature, and a sincere prayer to the world.”
Her creative process is meditative, and each line and form emerges from that presence.

Manwol’s Energy Art Collections
Our online gallery features three of Manwol’s signature bangwoondo series. Each one offers a different intention and emotional tone, but all are rooted in her desire to awaken healing, connection, and joy.

Fortune Talisman Series
Inspired by traditional Korean talismans, these pieces are visual prayers for prosperity, love, peace, health, clarity, and more. They’re created to support specific energetic qualities that you want to cultivate in your life.
As Manwol says:
“It is a person who brings fortune, not the bangwoondo itself. When a person’s heart is wide open, fortune enters through it.”
Zodiac Animals Series
This colorful series celebrates the twelve Asian zodiac animals, each accompanied by an uplifting message that reflects its essence. These pieces are joyful reminders of the innate gifts of your birth sign.
Life in Motion Series
This series explores our human relationship with nature, transformation, and the unseen forces that move us as we go through life. These pieces celebrate themes like courage, flow, acceptance, and self-realization.
Manwol encourages people to view all of her work with not only their eyes, but their whole being:
“Don’t try to see it with your eyes only. Please open your heart, breathe slowly, and feel the energy of the painting.”
She has also created Healing Hearts: A Coloring Book for Letting Go and Starting Over. It’s a beautiful companion for healing that blends her hand-drawn images with messages of love, release, and renewal.
Each offering carries the same intention: to help you remember who you really are and to open your heart to the energy that heals, which is already inside you.
Manwol’s energy art is available in various print formats in the Change Your Energy shop. Explore the collections here.
