New Collection: Horse Art by Al Choi
As we prepare to enter the Year of the Horse in 2026, we’re excited to introduce a new series by artist Al Choi. This latest collection arrives as an energetic carrier of what the Horse year brings: movement, intensity, freedom, and the courage to transform.
The Year of the Horse is known for speed and momentum, and 2026 carries the added charge of Fire energy. Against this backdrop, Al Choi’s new paintings invite us into the inner landscape of horse energy, where vitality, power, and awareness coexist.
Art for a New Cycle
The new collection features eight original works: three color paintings (in acrylic and watercolor) and five traditional East Asian ink paintings on rice paper. Together, they explore the Horse as a spiritual force—one that runs, awakens, sheds illusion, and returns us to what is essential.

The color paintings are rich and luminous, carrying warmth and depth that echo the Fire Horse’s intensity. The black ink works are more minimal and immediate, capturing movement, power, and grace.
Al shared his intention for this series:
“Along with the progress of consciousness, I hope you have a year of challenges and transformations in life and enlightenment, with the spirit of a horse. Let’s run!”
Highlights

Dancing Light
This painting evokes a brilliant, hot, yet serene inner space, where the lights of the sky meet and mingle with the lights of the earth—a meeting point between the cosmic and the embodied. It reflects the Fire Horse’s radiance while holding a sense of centeredness and grace.

A Star Emerging from the Darkness
A meditation on transformation. This work speaks to the idea that darkness is not an endpoint, but a gestation. Solitude, challenge, and uncertainty become the process through which a new brilliance is born. It mirrors a core theme of the Horse year: forward movement forged through truth.

Longing
This piece explores freedom and love as awakening from the dream of separation. Like the hero of the story The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, who realizes that the world can never contain him, it invites us to release any false identity and return to our true origin.

Al Choi’s horses remind us that true power comes not from speed alone, but from conscious direction; not from force, but from presence. The collection is an energetic companion for a year defined by momentum, change, and awakening.
